A B C D E F G H I K L M O P Q R S T V W Find your Air Bag Passenger now!The passenger-side air bag results from the desire of automakers to ensure that the occupants of their vehicles are not injured in an accident. Modern air bag systems can be quite sophisticated, only firing the bag if there is an occupant in the passenger's seat. Combined with the belts and knee bolsters, these devices prevent the launching of the passenger through the windshield in the event of a collision. An issue that has arisen recently is that the passenger air bags in many smaller vehicles are so close to the seats and so powerful that they can injure infants in car seats. This has been dealt with by installing a switch to turn them off, or a weight sensor under the seat that reduces the explosive power of the airbag in the event that the occupant is very small. Air bags bring safety to everyone in the car.
