Find your Air Box Air Cleaner now!

The air that goes into the engine of an automobile must be thoroughly cleaned to prevent the tiny dust particles in the air from acting like sandpaper and ruining the cylinder walls. Most modern fuel-injected cars use what is known as an "airbox" to collect the air destined for combustion in the engine. This makes them a perfect place to mount the air cleaner element. Many owners actually think of the airbox as the air cleaner. The advantage to this system is that the air is cleaned before it passes any of the sensors in the system. The disadvantage is that it is large and must frequently be located in hard-to-get-at places under the hood. Even though it is hard to reach and designed to last a long time, the air cleaner element must still be changed regularly to prevent damage and promote economy.
